Mt. Cristo Rey

Mt. Cristo Rey in Sunland Park, New Mexico, on the west side of McNutt Road, is the scene of an annual pilgrimage every Easter Sunday because at the zenith of this 800-foot peak sits a magnificent 29-foot statue of Christ by Spanish sculptor Urbici Soler. If you're inclined to join this annual pilgrimage, it's best to hike up in a group because of Mt. Cristo Rey's proximity to Mexico.
