Fort Bliss Museum and Study Center
Fort Bliss Museum and Study Center is currently under construction but still open to the public. The museum details the history of the Army post from its inception as a mounted infantry regiment to its present day standing as America’s Air and Missile Defense Center of Excellence. For military aviation buffs, the Air Defense Artillery Gallery showcases the first use of an airplane as an offensive weapon in World War I. The museum also catalogs the history of the Army in general and specifically here on the border. (Enter Fort Bliss through Cassidy Gate off Highway 54.)
