El Paso Exploreum

El Paso Exploreum, the first dedicated children’s museum in El Paso, offers more than 60 interactive exhibits for ages 12 and younger. This exciting, entertaining museum features permanent exhibits dedicated to role-play, high-tech, science, engineering, architecture, math, and history. The aviation exhibit is a whimsical, kid-sized Southwest Airlines-sponsored airport with, among other things, a plane midsection and control tower. High-tech displays include a multiplayer touch-screen table, interactive floor and Time Warner Cable exhibit. Shuttle to the Stars, designed and built by a youth, launches the imagination into the solar system. Old El Paso replicates an 1880s general store, bank, school and jail. Other exhibits include a human bubble maker, recording studio, Channel 9 News Studio and Imagination Station, where recyclables stimulate creation. New in 2015, the “Science of Bowling” features compact bowling lanes and interactive math and science displays. Open Tues–Sat 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Sun noon–6 p.m. (last admission 5 p.m.) except major holidays. Tickets $8 2 to 60 years, $6 active military, educators and 61+ with ID; under 2 years free. 300 W. San Antonio across from Convention Center parking garage.
